My Plea

I’m scared to walk out of the confined four walls,
I’m scared to roam about alone in the malls,
I don’t feel secure,
There is no safety any more,
Too many restrictions,
Thoughts and ideals of individuals causing frictions,
I would rather be treated like a boy,
Not just a use and throw toy,
I want to be free like a bird,
Not always be considered another target in a herd,
I want to have an open life,
Not threatened with society’s knife,
All I wish for is a better future
For all those little girls
Who deserve to be nurtured to become beautiful pearls…

This poem was written post the Delhi rape case and is one that is really close to my heart.

Left in a Trance ♬

You are like a beat in my head,

A song that’s on replay when I’m in my bed,

A tune I can’t stop humming,

Music I try to stop but relapses and keeps on coming,

It’s playing again and again,

Attempts to shut the melody are all in vain,

My Walkman has run of battery,

My I-pod is dead,

But still the song doesn’t halt,

You know what,

It’s all your fault,

Come and shut it down,

On reading this,

DARE you frown!,

Cause it’s your guitar that has led me to this,

IT’s youre’ mesmerizing voice,

Equivalent to heaven’s bliss,

Come back to me cause it’s you with whom to this song I wanna dance,

Oh, sweet musician!

You have disoriented me and left me in a trance!

On Mothers’ Day :)

You are like the sun,
Bringing light into my life,
You are like the stars,
Guiding this little girl who is anything but naive
You are like the clouds,
Giving me shelter,
You are anything but a clone of someone who loves me,
Who saves me from being lost in life’s helter-skelter,
You are like the rain,
With precise knowledge to heal my pain,
You are MY mother,
Like whom there is no other.

love you to bits and pieces mum :*
